Billing
Usage & metering
What Relay meters — database compute, storage, seats, and egress.
On paid plans, usage is billed as you go. The metered dimensions and their rates are:
- Database compute — node-hours by machine tier. A cluster accrues node-hours per running node at the rate for its tier (R5–R200).
- Storage — provisioned storage, with overage beyond what a tier includes.
- Seats — members of the organization. Five seats are included with any paid plan; you are billed for the peak member count reached during the billing cycle beyond that.
- Egress — data served out through governed proxy connections.
| Dimension | Rate |
|---|---|
| Database compute | Per node-hour at the tier's rate (a month is 730 hours); see Why Relay for tier prices |
| Storage overage | $0.30 per GiB-month beyond a tier's included storage |
| Seats | 5 included, then $20 per seat per month on the cycle's peak member count |
| Egress | $0.15 per GiB served through governed proxy connections |
Storage and egress are metered in binary GiB (1 GiB = 2^30 bytes), not decimal GB. Rates are the list rates in USD (see Billing in Brazilian reais for the BRL rates); your organization's live rates are under Organization → Billing. The platform fee that credits toward usage is described in Platform fee & auto-upgrade.
Pausing a cluster stops its compute accrual while keeping storage and backups — see Lifecycle.
Your current usage is visible under Organization → Billing. Retention and feature limits per plan are summarized in the plan matrix and plan limits.
