Managed databases

Logical databases

Create and manage logical databases within a PostgreSQL cluster, and adopt or detach existing ones.

A cluster's Logical databases tab manages the individual databases inside a PostgreSQL cluster.

Each logical database has a name, an optional owner (one of the cluster's managed database users), and an optional description. Clearing the owner reverts ownership to the platform superuser.

A database progresses through a Pending → Ready phase (or Failed) after you create it; the tab reflects the current phase.

Adopted databases. A logical database whose origin is Adopted was created outside Relay and brought under management. Removing an adopted database detaches it (leaves it in place) rather than deleting it; a Relay-created database is deleted outright.

Logical databases are available for PostgreSQL clusters.
